Comprehensive BAT Training

This 12 hour course integrates CMI’s instrument specific training with the DOT required training on procedures necessary for the Breath Alcohol Technician. (BAT to comply with federal regulations) This comprehensive course provides the instrument operator with not only the mechanics of using an instrument, but also how and why an instrument can measure alcohol concentrations in the human body, the environment in which testing must be conducted, the federal regulations with which the company must comply and the correct procedures for giving a test. Specifically, this course includes the following topics:

  • Introduction to the Alcohol Rule
  • Evidential Breath Testing (EBT) Methodology
  • Instrument Features & Functions
  • Setting Up the Instrument
  • Instrument Check
  • Donor Tests
  • Obstacles to Completing Tests
  • Disclosure of Information and Record Keeping

BAT Instructor Training

This 16 hour Course includes all the components of the Comprehensive BAT course in addition to an instructor training module. The person attending this course will be trained as both a BAT and an Instructor of BAT’s. Specifically this course is intended for organizations that have a number of individuals to train and have determined in-house training to be the most cost effective. The instructor training includes the following in addition to the components listed in the Comprehensive BAT Training:

  • Advanced Preparation for Class
  • Pre-Course Materials
  • Course Outline and Schedule
  • Classroom Preparation
  • Good Training Techniques

BAT Refresher Training

This DOT-Reviewed 4 hour course includes but not limited to instruction on the following:

  • Current 49 CFR Part 40
  • Required hands-on training with your Intoxilyzer
  • Problems associated with alcohol testing
